Advisory: An ability to use the basic math skills of addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication of positive whole numbers and fractions is needed.
Presents processes, principles, and techniques for constructing woven garments with the single needle machine emphasizing current custom and industrial techniques, including fit and care. Introduces the fashion program and employment opportunities in the industry. (F,S,U)

This is a 2 unit college sewing class at Allan Hancock Jr College in Santa Maria. It is part of their 18 unit Fashion AA certificate. Students sew 2 garments and complete a sewing portfolio with 80 sewing techniques showing proficiency in beginning to intermediate techniques. Textbook required. Midterm and final are given.
